Special Education Instructional Assistant

We are currently seeking a Special Education Instructional Assistant to join our team in Los Banos, CA. As an Instructional Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of students with disabilities. Working under the direction of teachers and certificated personnel, you will provide instructional support to individual or small groups of Special Education pupils. Your assistance will help create an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive academically and socially.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional support to Special Education pupils as directed by teachers or certificated personnel.
• Assist in maintaining appropriate classroom behavior and fostering a positive learning environment.
• Support students with a range of disabilities by reinforcing instruction, facilitating activities, and assisting with assignments.
• Collaborate with teachers to prepare instructional materials and organize classroom resources.
• Monitor and supervise student activities, drills, and assignments to ensure prehension and engagement.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with clerical tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Knowledge of instructional support principles and practices.
• Ability to effectively municate and interact with students with disabilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a classroom setting.
• Basic puter skills and proficiency in clerical tasks.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Classroom or resource environment.
• Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, assist students with physical needs, and lift objects up to 20 pounds.
