As a Boiler Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial boilers. Your primary responsibility will be to install, maintain, repair, and inspect boilers and related equipment, ensuring that they meet regulatory standards and function optimally. By utilizing your technical expertise and troubleshooting skills, you will contribute to the smooth operation of boiler systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring the continuous supply of steam or hot water. This role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.


Schedule: 3rd shift

Monday - Saturday ; Sundays Occasionally

Hours:

10:00 PM - 6:00 AM , or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Boiler Engineer Responsibilities

  1. Install and commission new boilers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
  2. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on boilers and related equipment to identify and address potential issues.
  3. Diagnose and repair malfunctions or breakdowns in boiler systems, such as leaks, faulty valves, or pressure irregularities.
  4. Perform regular cleaning and servicing of boilers to remove scale, sediment, and other debris that may affect performance.
  5. Monitor and adjust boiler controls, fuel consumption, and water levels to optimize efficiency and minimize energy wastage.
  6. Test boiler safety devices, such as pressure switches, relief valves, and flame safeguards, to ensure proper functioning.
  7. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs performed on all boilers in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  8. Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and shutdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  9. Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in boiler technology to recommend improvements or upgrades to existing systems.
  10. Foster a culture of safety by following all relevant safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting safe work practices.

Boiler Engineer Required Skills

  1. Strong technical knowledge of industrial boiler systems, including operation, maintenance, and repair.
  2. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting boiler malfunctions, such as leaks, pressure issues, and combustion irregularities.
  3. Familiarity with boiler safety regulations, codes, and standards, such as ASME, NBBI, and OSHA.
  4. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications related to boiler systems.
  5. Skilled in using various tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, multimeters, and combustion analyzers, to perform diagnostics and repairs.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities to quickly identify and resolve boiler-related issues.
  7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing inspections, maintenance tasks, and record-keeping.
  8. Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members, contractors, and vendors.
  9. Physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, often in hot and noisy environments.
  10. Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant safety guidelines and protocols.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Boiler Engineer or in a similar role.
  3. Valid boiler operator license/certification or the ability to obtain one.
  4. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing boiler operations.
  5. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and data analysis software tools.
  6. Additional relevant certifications are advantageous.
