Provide strategic guidance and technical assistance for audit preparation and remediation efforts (e.g., develop integrated enterprise strategies; develop, implement, and validate corrective action plans). Monitor and provide feedback on audit remediation efforts/plans executed by various DoD commands and organizations. Coordinates response to auditor Notice of Findings (NFRs) by developing Corrective Actions Plans (CAPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as recommending, designing, and implementing internal controls. Liaisons between consulting firms, auditing firms, and US Army commands to collaborate on audit facilitation and remediation efforts.

 

Other Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with audit remediation and sustainment services within DoD, Federal Government agency or large company.
  • Experience supporting audit readiness, audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statement of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies for Federal Government Agencies or large, complex companies.
  • Understanding deficiencies communicated by the auditor, tracking audit PBC requests, responding to audit requests, developing corrective action plans, and executing remediation with a focus on internal controls over financial reporting and management financial statement assertions.
  • Demonstrates a thorough level of knowledge of finance and accounting processes.


Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Direct experience with OSD Advana and/or Army Systems such as GFEBS or LMP
  • Knowledge of federal accounting and auditing standards and guidance in relation to: Federal financial statement auditing, Internal controls, Audit liaison, and Financial reporting.
  • Experience with AFACT (Army’s audit facilitation tool – how we communicate with the auditors) or DoD audit readiness/audit remediation/audit experience is ideal.


Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Salary will be commensurate with experience and ability. 
  • A bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • An active secret clearance.
