Summary of Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Children and Youth Supervisor, this person works in close contact with Caseworkers regarding daily assignment of activities. This person will perform activities on behalf and in support of the Caseworker. Duties are conducted in accordance with all existing policies, procedures, and regulations and in accord with the Mission and Values of the Company. This position has been designated to be a part of the County's CYS workforce for purposes exclusive to the proper handling of consumer information as is required by SAM privacy policies.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in the maintenance of case records

  • Assist families/clients in completing necessary paperwork/forms

  • Collects/Reports data

  • Transports/supervises visits with children

  • Assists in obtaining birth certificates and Social Security cards

  • Completes interstate paperwork for placement

  • Assists with home visits, transports, removing children, and placing them in Foster Care

  • Assists families/children and caseworkers in arranging appointments

  • Assists in obtaining records

  • Makes extra home visits for caseworkers

  • Assists with Holiday donations/deliveries to families

  • Assists with audits

  • Assist with monthly loop visits

  • Assists with ongoing Family Engagement Initiatives

  • Attends required training

Personal Characteristics:

Education and Experience:

Associates degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; OR 2 years of experience as a paraprofessional in a similar position and two years of college-level course work, which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience in a similar position performing case aide functions. OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Employment Requirements:

Automobile and Valid Insurance, Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License, acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Check, Act 33 and Act 34 Clearances, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, Social Security Card, Immigration and Naturalization (I-9), Drug Screening Clearance

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods working on a computer in an open office environment, comfortable communicating through virtual technology, and travel throughout the assigned region may occur and may be in adverse weather conditions, must be able to lift to 15 pounds.
