Position: Restaurant Front of House Manager/Lead Server

Job Description:

As the Lead Server in our restaurant, you will take on a crucial leadership role in delivering exceptional service to our guests. Your warm and welcoming demeanor, combined with your extensive knowledge of the menu and restaurant operations, will inspire and guide our team to provide an outstanding dining experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the front of house team, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers. Set a positive example and promote a customer-focused culture, ensuring that team members are empowered to deliver exceptional service.

2. Training and Mentoring: Train new and existing team members on service standards, menu knowledge, and restaurant policies. Coach and mentor staff to enhance their skills, confidence, and ability to provide excellent service.

3. Guest Satisfaction: Interact with guests proactively, ensuring that their needs are met and that they have a memorable dining experience. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints with empathy and professionalism, seeking resolutions that exceed their expectations.

4. Order Coordination: Oversee the flow of orders from guests to the kitchen and ensure accurate and timely delivery of food and beverages. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to maintain smooth operations and minimize delays or errors.

5. Special Requests and Dietary Restrictions: Handle special requests and dietary requirements with attention to detail, ensuring that the kitchen and service staff are informed and properly accommodated.

6. Sales and Upselling: Foster a culture of salesmanship within the team and lead by example. Encourage suggestive selling techniques to increase revenue and drive overall guest satisfaction.

7. Shift Coordination: Effectively manage the server floor plan, ensuring proper coverage and seamless communication between team members. Coordinate breaks and ensure smooth transitions during shift changes.

8. Quality Control: Perform periodic inspections of tables, dining areas, and restrooms to maintain cleanliness and organization. Conduct regular checks to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

9. Cash Handling: Manage cash transactions, including handling payments, providing change, and reconciling cash registers at the end of shifts.

10. As a key employee, you will be accountable for meeting all expectations and providing regular updates to the operations manager and ownership group. Your primary responsibilities will include scheduling front of house staff and ensuring that labor costs adhere to company guidelines. Occasionally, you may need to work overtime to cover employee shifts. Additionally, it will be your responsibility to maintain inventory of all products in the front of the house. Building a strong rapport with the back of the house team is crucial in order to collaborate effectively and create a memorable experience for our guests, while also keeping our financial performance on track. Finally, a monthly meeting will be held with the operations manager, and possibly the ownership group, to discuss financial figures and performance expectations.

Requirements:
1. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a server in a high-volume restaurant, with demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team. This is not a deal breaker, as we will look at all candidates with leadership ability, even if you have not been in the restaurant industry.

2. Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with guests, team members, and management.

3. Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team to deliver exceptional service.

4. Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

5. Flexibility: Willingness to work in flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the restaurant operation.

6. Knowledge of Food and Beverage: Thorough understanding of food and beverage preparation techniques, menu items, and wine pairings.

7. Positive Attitude: A warm, friendly, and approachable personality with a genuine passion for providing exceptional service to guests.

Compensation:

Employee Expect to make between $50,000 to $70,000 per year.

Base Salary of $20/HR Plus Tips. This is a working position so you will be serving tables along with doing manager duties.
