This leader will play a critical role in shaping our data landscape, driving innovation, and ensuring effective data management practices.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Develop and evolve the enterprise data strategy and target state architecture to support delivery of business objectivesEnsure alignment and drive advancement of enterprise roadmap towards the target state architecture in alignment with enterprise Technology strategySupport the advancement of standard methodologies and core principles around data governance to enable alignment with long term objectivesProvide technical oversight to solution delivery in creating business driven solutions adhering to the enterprise architecture and data governance standardsAdvocate for the advancement of our AI/ML and GenAI capabilities in support of business opportunities (data products, underwriting, etc)Build strong working relationships with architects and delivery leaders in across data and application organizationsLead a team of enterprise data architects and work successfully across organizational boundariesAdvocate for the adoption of modern data-centric technologies & techniques with teams across NM to improve access and quality of dataQualifications:Minimum of 15 years of experience architecting, designing and developing large-scale data solutions using relational and non-relational technologies for both operational and analytical purposesDeep expertise and understanding of modern data, Generative AI and cloud technology requiredExperience driving technology modernization from on prem to cloud strongly preferredExtensive data modeling experience with operational and analytical data storesDeep understanding of data governance principles and standard methodologies, ability to apply a practical approach to driving data governance maturityExperience using AI/ML models to drive recommendation engines or other data productsDemonstrable ability to drive broad enterprise alignment and the successful implementation of impactful technology solutionsProven track record in driving enterprise-wide data initiatives, leveraging advanced analytics, and delivering innovative data solutions.Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve organizational objectives.Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.Compensation Range:Pay Range - Start:$183,680.00Pay Range - End:$341,120.00Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment.
