Construction Operations Manager

Concord, CA Full-time $140,000.00 - $180,000.00Posted 04/03/2024We are one of the largest Capital Improvement Contractors in the Western United States and we are looking for an experienced Construction Operations Manager to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish to ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget. Responsibilities  Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements  Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities Supervise the work of laborers, superintendents, project managers, etc. and give them guidance when needed Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principlesOversee and direct construction projects from conception to completionReview the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs  Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulationsCoordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory  Meet contractual conditions of performance  Review the work progress on daily basis  Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status  Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones  Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences  Analyse, manage and mitigate risks  Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques  Good knowledge of Excel & MS Office  Outstanding communication and negotiation skills  Excellent organizational and time-management skills  A team player with leadership abilities Requirements and skills Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods  Proven working experience in construction management  Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards  Understanding of all facets of the construction processFamiliarity with construction management software packages Competent in conflict and crisis management Leadership and human resources management skills Excellent time and project management skills BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field a plusBenefits401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceCompany vehicle or allowanceGas cardApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.Preferred SkillsOperations ManagerConstructionConstruction ManagementProject ManagementBuilding ProductsConstruction DetailsQuality StandardsConstruction Processconstruction management softwareConflict Management
