Robert Half has an opening with a company in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance field, for a Payroll Administrator who can process payroll and is proficient with Microsoft Office applications. The Payroll Administrator opportunity will be located in Federal Way, Washington as a long-term contract / temporary role.

Your responsibilities

- Draft reports by organizing all summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

- Manage employee deductions and other liabilities

- Put together summaries of employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to calculate all payroll liabilities

- Prepare for department heads relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports

- Certify compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

- Manage other tasks as assigned

- Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records

- Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting, calculating, and entering data

- Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

- Help payroll manage all internal and external audits

- Exercise review and verification of source documents

- Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential

- Manage payroll information requests and questions

- Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary- Accurate, swift, data entry abilities

- Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

- Expertise with internal controls

- Payroll experience

- Meet and uphold Certified Payroll Professional criteria

- Prior experience working with accounting software

- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

- Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

- Capable of managing high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

- Strong analytical capabilities and discernment
