JOB TITLE: Shipping Clerk

REPORTS TO: Shipping Supervisor


DAYS: Monday – Friday

HOURS: 7:00am – 3:00pm (Overtime as needed and approved)

JOB SUMMARY: On a daily basis provide needed paperwork for shipments; generate reports needed to fulfill production demands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Understands and knows how to use internal software program (JobMaster)
  • Email customers/carriers for carrier information
  • Email or call carriers to schedule pickup
  • Print paperwork from Fast Track Schedule
  • Record shipment including tracking numbers
  • Create shippers/bols for outgoing freight from standard and fastrak schedules, CSO’s and casework
  • Every morning close out shippers/bols in system from previous day that shipped
  • Create pack lists for casework shipments, enter information on spreadsheet
  • Keep track of partial and orders on hold
  • Contact w/ freight companies
  • Participation in Lean Process improvement events
  • Create necessary reports and documentation as required
  • Back up to UPS:
    1. Collect and pack items for shipping
    2. Classify packages by size and weight
    3. Review and label packages accordingly
    4. Create shippers and package items for UPS on a daily basis (including FedEx)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School or Equivalent
  • Experience: 6 months Customer Service
  • Shipping/Receiving
  • Physical mobility sufficient to accommodate bending, reaching, lifting and gripping up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic math skills to include fractions and decimals, including conversion
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Have good attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and desire to take on new projects
  • Must present a professional image
  • Team player
  • Training in Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Capable of handling a fast paced environment
