Summary

Bethlehem Lutheran Academy is seeking a reliable and energetic teacher who would like the opportunity to grow in a hands-on administrative role, while still experiencing the joys of direct classroom instruction and interaction, and making a difference in the lives of the littlest learners!

The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Center Director in ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center's care. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Assistant Director collaborates to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately. The Assistant Director leads afternoon instruction and creative programming (such as our nature classroom) that sets our program apart.

Duties

  • Lead afternoon classroom teacher (solo as well as part of a team)
  • Oversee Nature Program (willingness to work outside and assist with early childhood garden)
  • Assist (willingness to be trained)with state paperwork (enrollment files, etc)
  • Work independently with students (following state ratios) as well as part of a team
  • Willingness to work with provided materials for student education and engagement (prepping and leading projects)
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director


Requirements

  • 1-3 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting.
  • High energy
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Lead afternoon classroom teacher (solo as well as part of a team)
  • Oversee Nature Program (willingness to work outside and assist with early childhood garden)
  • Assist (willingness to be trained)with state paperwork (enrollment files, etc)
  • Work independently with students (following state ratios) as well as part of a team
  • Willingness to work with provided materials for student education and engagement (prepping and leading projects)
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check.
  • Must pass health screening.
