Growing distributor near Ontario Mills has an immediate opening for a Jr. Buyer to join their team! This is an established company and a full time permanent position with excellent benefits. This position will work in the office daily reporting to the Purchasing Manager.

SUMMARY:

In this key role, you will be  managing vendor relationships and inventory for various products that are distributed to retail customers throughout the South Western United States.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage relationships with  vendors to ensure a smooth and efficient buying
• Regularly review inventory reports, making data-driven decisions to balance overstocked items and address out-of-stock products.
• Forecasting
• Create purchase orders and collaborate with vendors to secure the right quantities of new products based on comparable sales data.
•  Participate in promotional planning meetings with Sales and Marketing teams, actively addressing inventory concerns to ensure product availability.
• Collaborate with Manufacturer reps and Sales teams to sell short-dated inventory, turning challenges into opportunities.
• Analyze vendor lead times and product shortages, negotiating with suppliers to meet our product requirements.
•  Monitor and resolve customer backorders, adjusting system settings to prevent future backorders.
• Keep Sales and Customer Service informed about out-of-stock issues, product recalls, defects, and new items.
•Review and approve large customer orders, ensuring that regular users are not short-shipped.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to address inventory discrepancies, conduct cycle counts, and manage purchase order receiving processes.
• Become a subject matter expert in our ERP system, serving as the go-to person for issue resolution.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 years of experience in Purchasing, Product Planning, or Product Allocation.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel (testing required).
• Communication: Strong written and oral business communication skills.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday – Thursday 8:00AM – 4:30PM Friday 7:30AM – 4:00PM 
HOURLY PAY: $24-26/hr.
