APRN will report directly to theMedical Director. The APRN is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day medical flow. The APRN is responsible for completing admissions process with all new clients. The APRN identifies and documents chronic and acute medical needs of clients and communicates this to the nursing team. The APRN representsthe facilityin a positive manner, both personally and professionally. The APRN promotes a mutually supportive environment that emphasizes a collaborative approach and one which values contributions of all members, including staff and clients.

Qualifications:

  • APRN Licensure and Certificationin the appropriate state, maintains current licensure per state requirements
  • Malpractice insurance coverage
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate
  • DEA license preferred
  • Previous experience working in and a strong commitment to a team environment
  • Previous work with addictions, mental illness, and homelessness or willingness to learn understanding of the systemic issues affecting those we serve preferred.
  • Knowledge/experience of how to safely de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate

Skills:

  • Competent in using EMR and information systems in providing effective documentation of client care.

Abilities:

  • Ability to monitor health issues and refer clients for specialized care as needed
  • Ability to analyze situations quickly and apply sound judgement
  • Provide clients needs, make referrals to, and collaborate with appropriate resources and community organizations
  • Discuss code blue and/or medical transfers with the participating team members in an open and respectful manner
  • Perform admission assessment, including physicals, for newly admitted clients
  • Report appropriate adverse drug reactions to appropriate authorities
  • Discuss with clients possible side effects of medications that are prescribed
  • Diagnose and treat acute health problems such as injuries, infections, illnesses
  • Provide medical on call
  • Utilize critical thinking skills when treating and managing in a detox setting

Other Characteristics:

  • Ensure all documentation is non-judgmental
  • Ensure all incidents are properly documented and any concerns/recommendations are communicated to supervisor
  • Ensure the flow of critical information is communicated to the appropriate team members
  • Take part in quality assurance audits and peer reviews
  • Ensure continuous flow of communication with leadership to enhance the quality of care given to clients
  • Recent Criminal Record Check
  • Non-Judgmental attitude
  • Ensure meets state and certifying bodies requirements for continuing education
  • Ensure all documentation is timely and meets state and insurance standards
  • Must meet then maintain all pre-employment requirements which includes reference checks, applicable state and national required background screening, 10 panel urine drug screen, DMV check, insurance (if applicable), and license/credential verifications
