Overview


Kaman Composites Vermont in Bennington Vermont has an opening for a CNC Machinist.

Will set up and run jobs on 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machines performing close tolerance finishing operations on assigned parts per established production schedule. The individual will also cross train in manual machining to be able to perform daily tasks as required. Will participate in all continuous improvement activities in the work cell and be part of daily preventative maintenance on the machines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Set up and run jobs on CNC machines per assigned production schedule.
  • Cross train in manual machining to be able to run jobs as needed.
  • Work with CNC programmers to ensure that timely and accurate programs are ready to run jobs.
  • Participate in designated continuous improvement activities in the work cell and in other areas of the company as requested.
  • Perform routine daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on machines as needed.
  • Participate in all required training sessions.
  • Keep work area neat and clean and store jigs, fixtures and tools in their designated areas.
  • Complete all required data entry and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by manager

Qualifications


Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment with proven mechanical aptitude, strong math skills and ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings. Preference will be given to applicants with prior machining experience.
