CAD Drafter – Power Sports Mfg.
Department: Innovation & Development
Reports To: Innovation & Development Engineer
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Amount of Travel Required: up to 35%

POSITION SUMMARY
The Drafter will follow established procedures to create product part and technical drawings that translate designs into detailed plans used for the production of products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare detailed assembly and part drawings for new or existing products according to company standards.
- Update existing and prepare new computer models, prints, and drawings using Inventor/SolidWorks software.
- Create accurate and complete Bill of Materials for parts or assemblies for production use.
- Correspond with vendors to identify best sourced cost, quality and components.
- Perform cost estimates for customer RFQ’s.
- Distribute completed documentation and communicate updates and modifications.
- Review engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new projects or products.
- Collaborate internally to ensure required product specifications and to discuss and interpret design concepts and requirements.
- Comply with safety procedures and rules.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Demonstrates company core values.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to take direction from project managers and engineers.
- Ability to manage time well to complete projects within the required timeframe.
- Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Associates degree in Mechanical Drafting or related field preferred
Experience: Metal fabrication environment with shop floor experience is a plus
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Certificates & Licenses: N/A
Other Requirements: Knowledge of Auto Cad, Inventor or Solid Works Software, 3D Modeling, experience using CMM a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
