Summary:
The Privacy Specialist (PS) is primarily responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring implemented processes to ensure organization compliance with applicable federal and state Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and guidelines, particularly regarding the organization's access to and use of protected health information (PHI).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare with two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a compliance or audits role, preferably in the healthcare industry or other industries highly regulated, or related field.
- Healthcare Privacy certification is required upon hire or to be obtained within the first twelve (12) to eighteen (18) months of commencing.
- Two (2) years of recent experience in a compliance-related role.
- General compliance and monitoring experience
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy or managed care industry operations.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (Written and Verbal).
