Hazard Mitigation Specialist (Infrastructure Program)

Plexos Group is currently seeking several Infrastructure Hazard Mitigation Specialist with experience in Hazard Mitigation Grant programs.

Responsibilities:

• Identifies, develops, quantifies, and/or reviews public works and infrastructure mitigation projects for sound mitigation techniques and eligibility for PA 406 Mitigation funding & HMA 404.
• Assists with the development of cost effective and technically feasible 406 Mitigation project applications.
• Performs Benefit Cost Analysis (BCA) using FEMA approved BCA software or methodology for potential Mitigation projects.
• Develops and prepares justifications and narratives on the outcome of the analysis upon grant award, manages the project grant in accordance with FEMA PA or HMA grant requirements.

Skills:

• Knowledge of FEMA PA program requirements including 406 Mitigation policies.
• Knowledge of FEMA 404 HMGP.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of structures and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of design and construction methods to reduce risk of future hazard damages to public buildings and infrastructure.
• Ability to analyze data and perform cost analysis of the information.
• Knowledge of the application process for federal grant awards.
• Ability to support an HM & HMA strategy while coordinating with other partners and grants specialists.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher education in Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Law, Science, or similar degree.
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience on infrastructure hazard mitigation.
