About the Position:

The Production Technician is responsible to inspect products using quality plans and various metrologies to ensure all products manufactured comply with the requirements outlined in the quality control plan before moving the product to the next operation.

· Operates and measures instruments and equipment for inspection of the product.

· Must understand the difference between calibration/verification of measuring instruments.

· Verify conformance of product in accordance with Quality Plans using visual inspection techniques, microscopes, micrometers, and automated measuring instruments.

· Knowledge of the fundamentals of the quality management system.

· Reads and interprets drawings.

· Understand defect types, sorting, and lot control procedures.

· Performs work in accordance with a traveler and work instructions.

· Performs technical end-of-shift duties, end-of-job procedures, and housekeeping procedures.

· Observes safety policies including personal protective equipment requirements and hazardous/emergency procedures.

· Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks.

· Must be able to cross-train in multiple departments as needed.

· Sort materials and transfer them to designated locations at the job site.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education / Experience: 2-3 years of experience preferred. Must have previous experience in, a manufacturing environment or similar role preferred. High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Language Skills: Will be required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, to write correspondence, memos, and schedule; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and fellow staff.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills are required.

Physical Demands:

· Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.

· Prolonged periods of standing.

· Occasional periods of walking and standing.

· Must be able to lift up to 20 - 40 pounds at a time.

· Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.

· Consistently turning and moving of hands, arms, feet, and legs.
