Machinist

Ideal candidates would possess 2 years’ experience or Vo Tech/Tech School training. Will to train motivated individuals.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Assist machining lead in fabrication, machining, and maintenance of machine shop.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assembly of new and repaired valve actuators & gearboxes

· Set up and operate lathes/milling machines.

· Familiar with 3 & 4 jaw chucks.

· OD & ID threading

· Read blueprints and create simple drawings.

· Use all types of micrometers to maintain tolerances.

· Reverse engineer simple parts.

· Machine multiple types of materials; bronze, steel, aluminum.

· Operate tow motor, cranes, presses, and other related equipment.

· Read and understand job workorders.

· Be a team player willing to assist in other departments when necessary.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

· Mechanical aptitude

· Basic math skills

· Read blueprints

· Use of Forklift

· Use of cranes and rigging

NOT REQUIRED BUT A PLUS:

· Welding

Compensation: This position is paid an hourly wage plus all benefits such as Vacation and Sick time, Health insurance and a company matched 401K. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Bonus wage for travel.

Required: Candidate must pass a pre-employment Fitness for Duty, (Drug and Alcohol) test and will be randomly tested as a part of the employment agreement. Background checks are also completed pre-employment for felony or motor vehicle driving restrictions that may disqualify a candidate.
