Customer Service Rep - Import/Export

Job Purpose

The primary objective is to provide exceptional customer service to our customers & sister companies, meeting or exceeding their requirements while maintaining the best interests of Viscofan USA. This is done through direct contact (usually phone or email) with customers, customer service in other locations, sales, planning and other internal departments on a daily basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Enter & maintain customer orders into SAP (including creating new products/customers)
• Follow up and expedite orders (if necessary) with planning and operations
• Arrange transport for export shipments with freight forwarding companies, including shipping and customs documents
• Ensure orders are shipped and billed on time with correct pricing & provide tracking if necessary, including the use of EDI’s and carrier management software
• Work with CS and finance to help with receivables
• Process compensations in a timely manner, when required
• Use tools provided to manage accounts, supply chain & inventory management
• Help to reduce slow moving and obsolete casings
• Communicate with customers (both internal and external) in a professional, courteous and effective manner including customer inventory/usage reports

Qualifications

• Education – High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience – 3 years Inside Sales for a manufacturing company
• Specialized knowledge – Food/Meat/Casing Industry experience a plus
• Skills – Must know SAP, Microsoft Outlook, Excel
• Abilities – Able to communicate well via person, phone or email, must be friendly, professional and a team player, must be able to multi-task and have good time management and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented and have good problem solving skills
