Job Summary: The Information Technology Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the hospital's network and electronic medical record systems. They are responsible for providing technical support to staff, managing system upgrades, coordinating with vendors, and optimizing workflows to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Supports and upgrades Electronic Medical Record Systems for the facility.
  • Supports, upgrades, and maintains all network hardware and connectivity (firewalls, switches, routers, servers, workstations, peripheral devices, etc).
  • Provides support, upgrades, and troubleshooting assistance for Meditech, PCC, and ECW systems.
  • Schedules downtimes and notifies staff accordingly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Coordinates with vendors and IT staff for third-party hardware and software installations/enhancements.
  • Notifies relevant parties of any unscheduled downtime and takes necessary actions to resolve issues promptly.
  • Conducts workflow assessments in collaboration with physicians and staff to identify inefficiencies. 
  • Works with stakeholders to develop and implement efficient and compliant workflows. Continuously monitors and evaluates processes to streamline operations and improve productivity.
  • Trains and educates new staff and physicians on IT systems, procedures, and best practices. Provides ongoing support and guidance to ensure staff proficiency in utilizing IT resources effectively.
  • Assists the Network Administrator with Active Directory management, including account creations, deactivations, and modifications.
  • Collaborates with the IT team to address network-related issues and optimizes system performance.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all hospital employees, contracted services, and external stakeholders. Addresses connectivity needs, including account management, email setup, DUO remote tool support, and Ericom remote access assistance.
  • Responds to IT-related inquiries and resolves issues promptly to minimize disruptions to clinical operations.
  • Maintains an on-call schedule to address emergency clinical IT cases outside regular business hours. Acts as a point of contact for urgent technical issues and provides timely resolutions to ensure continuity of care. 
  • Records all IT-related issues and resolutions in the Help Desk ticketing system.  Generates reports on system performance, service requests, and incident resolution for management review and analysis.
  • Monitors access/creations and assigns access in the Avigilon badge access system. Creates alarms/notifications for specific doors and departments with restricted accesses.
  • Assists in management of the facility network.
  • Assist with new technology implementation throughout the facility.
  • Directs and participates in the human resources management function for the department by coordinating the selection, promotion, orientation, and performance appraisal processes. 
  • Manages project implementations and timelines for all IT projects including assigning tasks based on each employee’s skill set.
  • Ensures the department operates efficiently. Professionally handles all issues that may arise, including employee care and morale.
  • Acts as a liaison between C-Suite and IT department to relay information on project concepts, goals, timelines, and progress.
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested.


Education/Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Meditech, PCC, ECW, and other relevant healthcare IT systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex workflows and identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in relevant IT specialties (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) preferred.



Experience:

  • Previous experience in healthcare IT management or a similar role preferred.


Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.
