MECHANIC
Monday - Friday
7:00 am - 4:00 pm
$18.00 - $28.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Perform tasks to ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings and schematics.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble machine components.
  • Knowledge and use of fork trucks and all lifting devices and the safe operation relative to employees and equipment.
  • Knowledge and ability to weld.
  • Ability to repair equipment with minimal disruption to production.
  • Knowledge in the use of machine tools.
  • Ability to maintain and repair central coolant systems.
  • Proper movement, control and reclamation of hazardous waste.
  • Assembles, dismantles, repairs and installs industrial machinery and equipment used in the production of steel;
  • Work is performed using a wide range of hand and power tools, hoists, cranes and forklift;
  • Performs scheduled inspection and maintenance
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements and adjusts functional parts of equipment by inspecting used parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Controls downtime through use of effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Perform shop arithmetic, including geometry and advanced math
  • 5 years of Millwrighting experience
  • Ability to read blueprints, charts, graphs, and diagrams
  • Ability to weld, cut and torch metal
  • Ability to shear, bend and form sheet metal
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair company equipment
  • Ability to work safely with a variety of chemicals and lubricants
