We are looking for a  Bilingual Industrial Mechanic to join our team!

Position Summary:

  • Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the overall maintenance of all manufacturing, facility, and support equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all production, supporting equipment, facility related items, and react quickly to any unplanned repairs that may hinder production.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, support and repair all production and supporting equipment, i.e. Columbia block machine model 16, cooling water, silos, air compressor, hydraulics, power transmissions etc.
  • Ability to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other related systems of all production and supporting department equipment in a safe and secure manner.
  • Determine materials, parts, and equipment to be used for repair, installation and stocking purposes.
  • Coordinate and participate in scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance on all production and supporting equipment.
  • Install, inspect, repair and maintain the mechanical, electrical and other related systems located on the premises.
  • Maintain records of equipment, such as preventative maintenance and equipment breakdown logs.
  • Complete all necessary documentation as described under company guidelines.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Support production operators with machine troubleshooting and/or set up as necessary.
  • Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Must perform all work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/ Knowledge/ Experience:

  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, machine rigging, and electrical systems.
  • Welding skills is plus
  • Ability to run maintenance and machine shop equipment such as a lathe, saw, mill, drill press, and other power and hand tools safely.
  • Manual dexterity and good judgment
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Solid knowledge of safety regulations and procedures of equipment and daily operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be flexible in daily schedule and willing to work overtime also during emergency situations.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license, as needed.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a must.

The ideal candidate will need to know how to:

  • Fluent Spanish and English speaker
  • Remove a hydraulic cylinder, break it down, replace the seals, and reassemble the cylinder without leaks. Can repair or replace leaking hoses. Can remove and replace broken pumps.
  • Diagnose any electrical issues and make repairs on broken wires, calanoids, switches, motors, etc.
  • Knowledge of PLCs in order to use it as a diagnostics tool and make adjustments to run time, cement mix quantity, mix ratio, etc.
  • Repair conveyor systems
  • Basic repair on forklifts
  • Knowledge of and adherence to lock out tag out procedures
  • Strong problem solving skills with a can do attitude
  • Proficient in welding. MIG, TIG, and Stick
  • Proficient with an oxyacetylene torch
  • Good fabrication skills in order to duplicate an existing part without a blueprint
  • Experience with operating a Columbia block machine model 16

Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and climb ladders or equipment.

Maximum unassisted lift of 50 lbs., average lift is less than 25 lbs.

Work Environment:

Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection. Safety shoes and eye protection are also required. Mostly an outdoor working environment with temperature ranges from 30 degrees to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
