Creeler

this position will train on 1st shift M-F 7-5 and then move to swing shift 7am-7pm (A/C) shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Report to Shift Supervisor for instructions and creel assignments

1. Upon arriving at assigned machine, locate all paperwork

1. Check the yarn lots on the Tufting Work Order, MSP Att2, with the yarn lots running or assigned to the machine.

1. Check the length of the order to determine the amount of yarn needed.

1. Contact Supervisor or Mender-Lead if more yarn is needed at machine.

1. Check Yarn Case Label to verify that the yarn lot matches Tufting Work Order, MSP Att2.

1. If Lot number matches, tear off case label sticker and place in Work Order Envelope.

1. If Lot Number does NOT match, do NOT open case and contact Supervisor immediately.

1. Check Each Cone Label in every case to verify yarn lot number

1. If Cone Label does not match yarn lot listed on Tufting Work Order, MSP Att2, do not hang yarn and contact Tufting Supervisor.

1. If Lot Number matches, hang as instructed.

1. Visually review all cones of yarn making sure it is the correct color and type.

• i.If yarn color or type is not correct, do not hang and contact Tufting Supervisor.

1. Once the creel is loaded, break down all carboard and boxes.

1. Tie in new yarn. Double check knots to make sure that they hold.

1. While the machine is running, monitor creel to make sure yarn is running smoothly.

1. Catch and tie in any blowbacks that the operator may have.

1. Help Mender doff completed rolls.

1. Once the order is complete, remove all old lots from creel to avoid mixing different yarns.

1. Keep cone count of each layer of yarn being returned and record it on the case flap.

1. Record case information on Yarn-Return to Stock, MSP Att38.

1. Keep the work area and creel clean at all times.

1. Notify the Supervisor immediately of any Safety, Quality, or Production issues.

1. Follow all company regulations as specified in the Sprinturf/Playcore Employee Handbook, SA04.

Perform any and all other tasks as required by the Supervisor

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Manufacturing experience is preferred

Computer Skills

Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
