Pride Health is seeking candidates for a Medical Lab Scientist I/II in Indianapolis IN 46214
Location: Indianapolis IN 46214
Shift: First Shift – 7:30 AM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Start time- 5 x 8 or 4 x 10 hours.
Duration: 12 months Contract to Hire Role
Job Details & Requirement:
• Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist, or clinical laboratory scientist.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
• Medical Lab Technician [2-year MLT degree] or Medical Lab Scientist / Medical Technologist [4-year BS]
• ASCP or AMT certification. (If required, you should be open to eligible /registered candidates)
• A State Medical Technologist license may be required (will be listed in the requirement if needed).
• 3-5+ Years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.
• Generalist with Blood Bank Experience, proficient in testing in all Chemistry, Haematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.
• Lab Information System - LIS or Millennium Cerner Epic or Soft Bank
• Vaccine requirement: All vaccines listed are required - Hep B, TB, MMR, T-Dap, Flu, Varicella, Covid, and Colour vision screening. *Covid declination would require the candidate to wear a mask on site* Declination form accepted for Medical or Religious reasons.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
• Prepare, evaluate, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies, as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
