Job Description


Job Title: Mechanical/Civil Engineer.


Reports To: VP of Engineering and Quality.


Position Overview:


Perform general design analysis for any item in development, this may include FEA software and/or other analysis tools. The specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to design, drafting, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, process improvement, customer assistance, and product development. Be an active contributor and share experiences with their colleagues. Troubleshoot product design issues in coordination with other shareholders.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare/check shop manufacturing drawings.


  • Prepare SolidWorks models and perform FEA analysis.


  • Team with sales division to develop marketing information such as fliers, catalogs, PUGs, and writing of technical information.


  • Work from sketches, customer drawings, actual parts, and verbal information supplied by customers or internal engineering services users to do detailed drawings, and provide supplementary information needed to complete assignments.


  • Be open for training on tools that will enhance engineering group optimization of tasks. Contribute ideas and techniques to improve engineering/production processes.


  • Research information when an engineering challenge is assigned.Present organized information to management to facilitate the decision-making process.


  • Contribute to the engineering manual, create charts, and tools for general use inside/outside of the organization, and be able to provide training and presentations as necessary.


  • Participate in on-going factory process improvement/cost reduction.


  • Understand and develop strong expertise in the standards that govern our industry. ANSI, ASTM, AWS, EN, API and OSHA


Education and Experience:


  • BS Degree in Civil/Mechanic Engineering.


  • 3 years in a similar position.


Required Software Proficiency


  • Microsoft Office - proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


  • Solid Works or similar drafting software.


  • Be familiar with FEA software for structural analysis.


Work Environment


  • Be able to work with a minimum of supervision. Candidate should be self-motivated.


  • Fast-paced, rapidly changing environment


  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.


  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as required.
