Position Purpose:
Manage the packaging program including design, validation, coordinate all requirements related to implementation of proper packaging for internal and external customer needs.
Essential Functions:
•Manage technical aspects of all packaging programs.
•Design, develop, procure and validate new packaging materials as well as methods.
•Coordinate development and implementation of packaging and labeling needs.
•Establish packaging standards for customer requirements.
•Maintain supplier manuals for incoming material.
•Coordinate technical packaging aspects of new/current product programs with suppliers and customers.
•Maintain customer dunnage programs.
•Works with Account Managers and customer contacts as it relates to customer packaging specifications to meet packaging needs.
•Provide continuous improvement through packaging development, process development and elimination of waste.
•Coordinate ergonomic improvements in current and future packaging.
•Other Engineering duties as directed by supervisor
Education and Training
•Bachelor's degree required (prefer degree in packaging or industrial experience)
Minimum Qualifications
•5 + years' experience in manufacturing packaging engineering required (preferably in automotive industry)
•5+ years' experience in APQP required.
•Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines required.
•Demonstrated packaging innovation required.
•Project management experience required
•Work with a sense of urgency and handle multiple projects at once required.
