POSITION SUMMARY

Follow start-up and first piece approval procedures. Responsible for making adjustments to set-up specifications. Identify/implement continuous improvements of mold processes and troubleshooting.

MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow proper set-up procedures when installing, running and removing tools/jobs.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, cost savings and quality of product.
• Communicate activities to process engineer, shift supervisor, department manager in accordance with reporting requirements.
• React to visual dimensional issues and document these actions as appropriate.
• Advise process engineer and shift supervisor of any maintenance needs, including replacement parts, repairs, etc.
• Must have knowledge of mold setting.
• Knowledge of set up books, process change logs, deviations, and process monitoring sheets.
• Familiarity with start up and shut down procedures.
• Respond to all quality calls.
• Observe and comply with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations associated with this job.
• Knowledge of robots, EOAT, and programming.
• Basic knowledge of different materials used including, but not limited to ABS, PC/ABS, and GTX.
• Aid supervisor in identifying training needs. Attend and participate in all scheduled training and educational programs identified for this position.
• Participate in 5S, including personal work area and shared facility space.
• Detailed knowledge of the injection molding process.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Successful completion of Paulson molding courses.
• Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, e.g., operating manual, procedure manual
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures, often in excess of 100 degrees. Ability to lift 100 pounds and ability to push/pull up to 250 pounds.

The noise level is generally loud. The work environment may include wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold or heat (not weather related). The temperature is generally warm and may be hot during hot, humid summer months. Frequent exposure to vibration, moving mechanical parts and electrical shock. Work conditions generally require personal protective equipment to be worn. All employees are expected to comply with all safety policies and procedures.
