Enviromental Health & Safety Coordinator
Job Summary:
Assist in supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and processes ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Promotes a safe, healthy work environment for all employees, proactively seeking improvements and engaging employees at all levels.
Knowledge and Skills (Education):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fluent in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent English communication skills (written and oral)
- Good presentation and training skills
- Knowledge of best practices, environmental standards, and health & safety standards a plus
Major Accountabilities:
- Work with EHS Manager to support adherence to critical environmental work instructions (see JSTP)
- Assist the HR and EHS Managers in the design of the company's wellness program with the purpose of achieving and maintaining a healthy workforce.
- Plan/conduct employee health fair/wellness initiative(s)
- Implement wellness activities such as a health fair, screenings, etc.
- Work with EHS Manager to support adherence to critical safety work instructions (see JSTP) ex: LOTO, Accident Incident Reporting, Contractor safety, etc.
- Audit machine guarding & update as needed
- Audit LOTO placards & update as needed
- Support plant compliance with RCRA,INDOT,HAZMAT, and SDS
- Assist with Audit Prep for internal and external audits of EHS systems
- Serve as backup process owner for safety and environmental
- Maintain & Conduct Basic EHS Trainings (ex: MOM new hire, safety alerts, etc.)
- Send out regular employee communication for EHS topics including but not limited to safety initiatives, wellness topics, and sustainability. Forms of communication may include: bulletin board, emails, mass texts, newsletters, etc.
- Assist with First Responder management, including Bi-annual CPR training
- Serve as a First Responder, assisting with first aid treatments and proactive injury prevention
- Conduct Safety walks & complete corresponding data entry
- Enter incident/injury data into and extract data out of Central Health & Safety App
- Actively utilize ergonomic program (Humantech) and track improvements
- Administer Annual vision exam (SFTY-WI-044)
- Conduct on-site Drug Screens
- Conduct PM's / inspections per the company schedule
Ex: Fire Extinguisher inspections, AED inspections, Eye wash inspections
