Position Summary Description

Responsible for Midulla Generating Station’s NERC Reliability Standards compliance, execution, monitoring, and reporting activities. Provides technical and administrative support of Capital and Expense Projects and other initiatives at Midulla Generating Station in support of Plant goals for reliability, efficiency, safety, and compliance established by Seminole management, in the most cost-effective manner.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and execute NERC Compliance activities for MGS plant site and, as assigned and depending on qualifications, to include coordination and verification of compliance on all applicable requirements with SMEs and peers at other Seminole generating facilities, capture and archival of evidence, RSAW development, scheduling, leading the execution of testing requirements, and the development of applicable training.
  • Represent MGS plant site as SME during CIP and O&P audits.
  • Participates in Capital Project development for MGS.
  • Review, analyze, plan, schedule work, and track budgets related to capital projects at MGS.
  • Research drawings, procedures, instructions, and plant operating data for project justification, approval, and planning.
  • Participate in outage planning meetings, providing project status updates, and support for new capital project development.
  • Maintain and process records in support of change management process such as drawings, equipment manuals, and tests as well as reports related to site projects or in support of site regulatory compliance activities.
  • Develop detailed work scopes involving technical job steps required; coordinates clearance requirements, material requirements, and any necessary departmental interfacing for assigned projects.
  • Prepare detailed planning packages and schedules for upcoming projects.
  • Prepare bid documents, writes purchase requisitions and change requests for parts, materials, or other project-related services.
  • Oversees contractor activities during outages or project implementation to ensure strict compliance with applicable safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Take a proactive approach regarding personal safety, safety of others, and compliance with all OSHA and SECI safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable equivalent electric power training and project management experience. Five (5) years of experience in Power Plant Operations and/or Maintenance, or Engineering, with experience in the NERC, FERC, and SERC compliance & auditing requirements preferred. May substitute two (2) years of experience for each one (1) year of academics.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. Must be capable of wearing full and half face respirator. Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.

Working Conditions

Some travel and work outside of normal business hours. While working in certain areas of the plant there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment. Must be able to work and access all locations of the plant and grounds.
