  • 1st Shift - $18 per hour

RECEIVING IS A VALUED DEPARTMENT

Receiving handles unloading materials inbound to POLYWOOD. We work together with other departments to store materials efficiently for all teams. Receiving works together with our Purchasing, Accounting, and Inventory Control teams to help verify and maintain accurate inventory records for our production and scheduling teams to operate effectively.


Receiving handles all spare pallet inventory and works to organize and sort pallets daily. Receiving works together with POLYWOOD's other campuses to store and transfer materials as needed. This can involve loading materials on trucks, operating the trucks and the truck schedule as well.


As Material Handlers, Receiving also transfers finished products between campus buildings and operates as the external handling glove for Shipping on campus. Examples include keeping empty pallets stocked and trash hoppers empty, as well as various other forklift-required tasks.




Requirements:


  • Picks and packs products needed for shipment in an accurate and effective manner
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Be a team-player

  • Forklift Experience Required
  • Cross examines paperwork against received items and truckloads of materials
  • Reports and communicates discrepancies and receiving errors
  • Able to memorize and learn locations and destinations for materials and finished goods
  • Able to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to operate an electronic scanner and follow existing standard operating procedures
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to work in shifts 8-10 hours long (longer if needed), where you are regularly required to stand, walk, and use basic sensory functions
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor as needed
