We’re looking for a reliable medical assistant to work directly with our healthcare staff and help us provide first-class care to our patients. You’ll greet people when they come in, schedule appointments, take patient histories, collect test samples, and assist with examinations, all while building an excellent rapport with our patients. $18 - $20 hourly
Responsibilities:- Put together insurance forms, noting patient symptoms, diagnoses, test results, treatment instructions, and prescriptions in the patient records
- Take the patient’s vital signs including their pulse, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure and record it in their chart
- Talk with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with healthcare staff
- Draw blood and prepare blood samples for laboratory tests
- Prepare exam rooms for patients ensuring the room is well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature for the patient and sterilize equipment
- Perform EKGs (training will be provided if no prior experience)
- Compile completed medical clearance packet with provider summary letter, clinic visit note and all testing results and email/fax to referring surgeon and hospital/ASC
- Strong communication skills and customer service skills
- Ability use a computer to complete administrative tasks
- High school graduate or has GED
- Has Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency
- Over 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant performing admin duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment
