Job Title: Manufacturing Plant Accountant

Overview: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Manufacturing Plant Accountant to join our finance team. The Manufacturing Plant Accountant will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our manufacturing facility, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes. Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the manufacturing plant. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

2. Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements. Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and trends to support decision-making and improve profitability.

3. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and analysis. Monitor inventory levels, identify excess or obsolete inventory, and implement strategies to optimize inventory management.

4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for the manufacturing plant. Work closely with department managers to develop budget assumptions, track performance against budget targets, and provide variance analysis.

5. Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies. Conduct periodic internal audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.

6. Capital Expenditure Analysis: Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and provide financial analysis to support investment decisions. Monitor capital spending and assess the financial impact on the manufacturing plant's operations.

7. Financial Planning and Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and business planning initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and develop actionable recommendations.

8. Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations. Work with external tax advisors to optimize tax planning strategies and minimize tax liabilities.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA certification preferred.

2. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience with cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis highly desirable.

3. ERP Proficiency: Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools preferred.

4. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data, analyze trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.

5. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

6. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

7. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive working relationships with colleagues across departments.
