**Job Description**

Summary: The employee in this position is responsible to operate a forklift in a proper and safe manner to load, offload, and/or transfer product and materials from various locations in the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

Complete forklift training course and observe Company forklift safety video.

Responsible to follow appropriate safety policies as instructed in forklift video.

Inspect forklift prior to use for safety and readiness.

Offload and transport equipment and supplies to appropriate destinations.

Load empty bins onto semitrucks and flatbeds.

Unload and transport equipment and supplies to appropriate destinations.

Transfer drums, pallets, and bins from one location to another.

Dump product bins with bin dumper forklift attachment into product hopper.

Use a shovel to scrape remaining fruit from the bottom of bins.

Transfer drums, using pincher attachment to drum dumping platform.

Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks and properly complete scale tickers and paperwork of received items in a correct and legible manner.

Observe loads being transported for any deviations and report findings.

Attach portable ramp to semitruck properly for safe loading and offloading of materials.

Refuel propane operated forklifts using correct and safe procedures.

Attach electric forklifts to battery charger for recharging.

Unload filter waste hopper and clarifier bins into dump trucks.

Communicate as necessary to maintain forklift in appropriate working order by completing maintenance request forms.

Twist neck to observe driving direction while traveling in reverse.

May assist in the training of plant employees to qualify as Forklift drivers.

Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Adhere to plant safety and GMP policies.

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education : High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information on a one on one basis to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations uses units of weight measurement, and volume.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardization situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid Washington Drivers License

Certified Forklift Driver
