About this job

Oversee the sales activities in your region for Kilian customers including prospecting, identifying, selling, and then managing customer requests to achieve customer satisfaction while maximizing long term profits. Strong emphasis on growing new sales by aggressively seeking new customers and growing our share at existing customers through finding applications that will use Kilian products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Grow sales of Kilian products to customers in your region. You will call OEM and Distribution customers in all different types of industries and markets. Your primary call point will be engineers and purchasing managers at these accounts, where you will be selling primarily our custom engineered machine-race bearings and customized assemblies.

  • Find new accounts and then work with engineering to help guide the customer to the proper type of product design. You also will manage that customer and all the other customers in your territory on an on-going basis, growing your relationship and becoming indispensable to the customer.

  • Work closely with Syracuse sales and engineering personnel to leverage capabilities and provide excellent customer service.

  • With engineering and customer input, help to develop new product concepts, act as "conduit" to customer for feedback and approval, and review/approve product design when complete.

  • Work day-to-day with production to ensure that orders are entered properly, and deliveries are made to the customer according to their schedule.

  • Participate in daily production calls, weekly Sales and Engineering meetings, and maintain clear, consistent communications with your customers and the Kilian team.

  • Make regular customer visits as necessary. Travel required - 10%-25%

Goals and responsibilities:

  • Achieve forecasted sales in your region.

  • Work with sales management to price products to achieve profitability goals.

  • Coordinate new product development with Engineering.

Critical Competencies

  • Must be in the Chicago Area and if you're located near a Regal Rexnord facility, an office will be provided for you.

  • Most work will be done from your remote office. Expectations of at least 4-6 visits to customers or potential customers per month.

  • Become proficient in SAP, CRM, and gain knowledge on how production flows through our shop.

  • Excellent work ethic, including the ability to be self-directed and self-motivated. Model professionalism, passion, and initiative with attendance, projects, and tasks.

  • Highly productive with a strong sense of urgency and orientation to details, accuracy, and excellent outcomes. Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in English language skills, including effective verbal and written communication.

  • The ability to read engineering drawings at an intermediate level.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BS in Business Administration or equivalent business/sales experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years in Sales with manufacturing knowledge

  • Experienced in preparing and executing successful sales calls to OEM and Distribution customers
