Employment Type: Direct Hire


Pay: $22.14 per (Can go up depending on experience, $1.50 hour attendance incentive.)


Schedule:

Monday-Thursday, 1 pm-10 pm

Monday-Thursday, 10 pm- 8 am

Wednesday-Friday, 7 am-9 pm

Saturday-Sunday, 8 am-9 pm

The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures and will be responsible for patient safety protocols. This position will function as the first-line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs and participate in CQI activities.


Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and the use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns, and extraneous radiation to patients.
  • Responsible for safe handling of equipment and films, instructing and preparing patients for Radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Select appropriate equipment to use for the procedure, determine the most suitable anatomical posture and positions to shield patients, accordingly, assess patient pain interfering with the imaging procedure, and make appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors, support and maintain a culture of safety and quality, and maintain department stock and order supplies as needed.
  • Make special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures, program portable or stationary x-ray machines to make radiographs for a variety of examinations, and position and shield patients accordingly.
  • Follow the principle of ALARA, keep the procedure room clean and neat, make minor equipment adjustments as needed, use CR or DR equipment to process x-rays, and practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining basic records and reports, files, training of students and ancillary staff, and interacting professionally with patients or family.
  • Have knowledge of facility policies and the functions of other departments, complete all work before clocking out and leaving by checking into the nurse's stations, and provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population, and perform other duties as requested.


Qualifications included having a high school graduate or equivalent, a BS degree preferred, currently attending an Accredited Radiology School (Letter from school or Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital-trained, being registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, be certified by the State of Arkansas to practice, and administer radiation and have a current BLS Certification. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with additional languages a plus, basic computer knowledge, bend, stand, or walk throughout our shift, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
