Test Prep Tutor/Teacher

Summit is looking to hire in-home, one-on-one, test prep tutors to service the greater Boston, MA area. Specifically to service the Newton and Brighton areas.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree to be considered. As well as a willingness to tutor all sections of both the SAT and ACT - this, after comprehensive paid training, of course - but a baseline knowledge of high school ELA & math content is needed.

New tutors undergo paid training to equip them with comprehensive knowledge of both the SAT and ACT, along with pedagogical strategies suitable for any learning style. Additionally, we offer ongoing supplemental training to keep tutors informed about updates to both tests and teaching methods to ensure they remain among the industry's best.

• We provide the marketing, billing, industry updates, and course materials, paid training, and support so you can focus on what’s important and enjoyable: helping students succeed!
• This tutoring position is part-time, and you set your hours and caseload. Tutors can work with as few as three students or as many as your schedule allows each week.

The Skill Set:

As a candidate for the role of Summit Tutor, you will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications:

• A student-centered disposition that prioritizes the learning needs of the young people we serve.
• Responsible and responsive work ethic, allowing flexibility for student schedule changes.
• Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel 30 minutes to students’ homes.
  • Additional compensation is provided when traveling farther.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Teaching or tutoring experience is welcomed, but not required.
  • We offer comprehensive paid SAT/ACT training to all new tutors.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students with Learning Differences is a plus.
