We are seeking a motivated individual to join and support our CA - Columbia Engineering team based in Gaston, SC. The ideal candidate for the CAD Specialist will be results driven,motivated by technical challengesand have excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

The CAD Technical Specialist will be reportableto the Engineering Manager and serve as an active member of our Engineering, Reliability, & Stores team. Their primary responsibilities will be accomplished through the following tasks:

  • Provides CAD support to CA Alpek Polyester engineering through day-to-day direction from the Engineering Manager.
  • Prepares construction sketches for capital projects, as assigned, using Microstation.
  • Reverse engineer and develop detailed sketches of various machine components.
  • Updates Issued for Record (IFR) drawings in Microstation.
  • Updates as-built drawings through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Prepares as-built/IFR transmittals for Project Administration distribution.
  • Enters updated drawings into Falcon, Alpek Polyester's Drawing Management System.
  • Is the CA - Columbia site interface with the Alpek Polyester USA corporate CAD team.
  • Performs field walk-downs, as needed, to verify as-installed conditions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school/GED equivalent, minimum; some technical school or college is desirable.
  • Minimum of 5-years' experience as a CAD operator using Bentley Microstation.
  • Experience working in a chemical facility is desired.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders is required.
