Job Overview

Instructs children s snowboarders of all abilities how to improve their ride skills, while providing a fun and effective learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach lessons from beginners through intermediate students ranging in age from 4 to 12
  • Display patience and good communication skills while teaching
  • Attend teaching/ability clinics when available
  • Adhere to all Bear Valley policies and procedures
  • Be a positive role model for all students, while representing the snow sports school in a professional manner
  • Model behavior consistent with the company Code of Conduct
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to interact with guests on a professional level
  • Work in extreme winter weather conditions
  • Must provide own snowboard equipment
  • Must be an intermediate to advanced snowboarder
  • Positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Thrives in a challenging work environment
  • Proven ability to work with a minimum of supervision, think quickly and take initiative to address problems in a creative manner that contributes to the team effort and guest experience
  • Ability and desire to learn and strive for the highest teaching standards
  • Knowledge and practice of The Code, as developed through NSAA
