Position Overview:

We are excited about the growth in the oil and gas industry and we are currently looking for a Torque and Test Operator. This position serves as a critical mission of our success. This role requires some previous work experience and serves as an opportunity that is willing to put forth the effort and physical ability to complete all duties required. This position needs someone willing to be dependable and interested in working to the best of your ability.

Previous experience working in the oil and gas field is not required.

Reports to: Field Supervisor

Major duties:

  • Drives required equipment safely to and from location
  • Operates company equipment in a safe and efficient manner

  • May be requested to work outside of normal work schedule to meet customer needs

  • Maintaining customer service satisfaction

  • Consult with job-site representatives for all job information and complete company work tickets as required

  • Clean and maintain applicable equipment and tools during and after use

  • Teamwork and communication skills are essential

  • Report any vehicle or trailer repairs to appropriate individuals and any other concerned or safety related issues. Prior maintenance or repairs of mechanical equipment is a plus

  • Able to follow directions or the ability to use navigation equipment if needed to the work site

  • Maintain and properly utilize Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) equipment such as: hardhat, safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe boots, Flame Resistant clothing and gloves.

  • Perform static torque checks

  • Perform and repair torque tools

  • Responsible for reporting torque & test failures

  • Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment at all times.

  • Tracking, recording, and monitoring of flange management activities including bolting tension and torqueing hydro testing

  • Inspecting and assuring the quality of bolt tightening tools and equipment including but not limited to hydraulic bolt tensions

  • Drilling rig and production hydro-testing

  • Check pipes and retrieve pipe specs and torque levels from customer representative

  • All other duties assigned

Required:

  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Must Have Valid Driver’s License for at least 2 year

  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as background check and Motor Vehicle Record requirement standards

  • Must be able to follow directions and company policies

  • Must have basic knowledge of field invoices, filling out forms correctly and obtaining customers signatures

  • Must be able to keep up with required paperwork filling out in a timely manner and turning in to the appropriate personnel.

  • H2S Certification is a Plus!

  • Must be able to multitask

  • Must be able to work independently and cooperatively while being self-motivated

Preferred:

  • Torque and Test operations experience preferred

  • Prior knowledge of Diesel engine or components repair

  • Prior knowledge of hydraulic equipment, pressure systems, and testing procedures

  • Experience operating winch related equipment and safe operations as such

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and position equipment weighing up to 50+ lbs.

  • Able to stand or sit long periods

  • Able to work in noisy outdoor environments (PPE Required)

  • Able to work with hands, fingers, and feet for long periods of time

  • Able to talk or listen for long periods of time

  • Requires close use of vision, color vision, peripheral vision and focused vision for extended periods of time

Typical working conditions and hazards:

  • Work is performed in all weather conditions

  • Able to perform duties with protective equipment, H2S respirator where required

  • Potential hazards include working near or with heavy tools and moving equipment

  • Potential exposure to loud noises, airborne toxins, solvents, flammable atmospheres and industrial chemicals

  • Operating company assets on state, county, or local roadways
