The Position: 

Rêve Preparatory Charter School is seeking an engaging Teacher Assistant for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. Classroom Teachers are entrusted with advancing the mission of the school through the development of a rigorous standards-aligned curriculum, responsiveness to feedback provided and collaboration with the instructional team on areas of instructional and/or curricular need at the school. 

Teaching Assistants are entrusted with advancing the mission of the school by supporting Classroom Teachers with classroom management strategies and facilitating rigorous standards-aligned curriculum that ensures all students are prepared to successfully reach all of their academic goals

Teaching Assistants will work closely with the School Director, Deans of Curriculum and Instruction, and Classroom

Teachers in establishing and maintaining a fiercely positive school culture and creating a college preparatory curriculum for each grade.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support Classroom Teachers with the implementation of school’s systems and procedures, including homework, discipline, transitions, community celebrations, breakfast, lunch, and classroom culture so that our school is structured and highly joyful with a focus on growth
  • Collaborate with Classroom Teachers to identify areas of intervention or enrichment for small group instruction Teach small group instruction based on students’ targeted goals Use a variety of methods to engage students in the classroom Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus- wide initiatives while developing students’ character and sense of community in the classroom
  • Assists Classroom Teachers with the planning, preparation and implementation of differentiated instruction for individual students and groups

Ongoing Responsibilities: 

  • Assume responsibility for the progress of all students Continuously use assessment data to refine curriculum and instructional practices Attend all campus based professional development sessions and data analysis sessions Participate in professional growth opportunities as required to maintain awareness of educational trends, management concepts, community involvement, and other educational initiatives

Background and Experience

  • Minimum of 48 college hours Ability to take constructive feedback and quickly incorporate that feedback Innovative, creative, and willing to take risks Ability to take initiative, highly organized and efficient, self-motivated
