JOB SUMMARY

This is a part-time position requiring you to work 30 hours per week on a temporary 12-month assignment.

Under the supervision of the Good Neighbor Ambassador Supervisor, provides various community benefit services to the local community. Extends and discharges a high level of stakeholder services, to ensure that the Sewer District is properly represented. Works on a variety of projects throughout the community to improve neighborhood vitality. Serves as liaison between the Sewer District and various community organizations, business organizations and the public. Participates in various Sewer District assignments including but not limited to training, professional development, relationship building and community outreach. Works with various Sewer District departments and representatives to understand the general operations of the Sewer District and communicates relevant information to stakeholders. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

-Works throughout the community to provide general landscaping services including weeding, mowing grass on public property, tree trimming, leaf pick-up, removing litter and graffiti, neighborhood clean-up and delivery of fliers to residents. In addition, aiding senior citizens and residents with disabilities, with limited tasks.

-Provides support and assistance to specific and relevant community activities such as community fairs, school fairs, community meetings, and other community efforts. Works with community organizers to understand role and involvement. Ensures quality service is provided.

-Provides a high level of visibility to neighborhood stakeholders by maintaining a positive and valuable physical presence within the community. Establishes and maintains positive and proactive relationships with community stakeholders, including residents.

-Under the direction of the Supervisor and Lead, carries out a wide variety of tasks that improve long-term perceptions of the community. Works on special community-based projects, while advancing community efforts such as assisting in the construction of Hoop Houses, working with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to distribute food to various centers or people. Provide general assistance on Watershed projects in the community by helping install and/or maintain cisterns, bio-retention basins, community gardens, rain gardens, and other related features.

-Promotes the Sewer District through positive representation and communication of Sewer District services.

-Successful candidate will be able to lift 20 pounds, able to walk and stand for long periods of time, and work in inclement weather conditions.

-Performs other duties as may be required

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Candidate must possess a High School Diploma from an accredited institution or its GED Equivalent.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS

- Valid driver's license preferred, but not required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Candidate must possess the ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions, perform manual labor, and use tools required to perform various tasks.
- Candidate must be reliable and punctual in reporting to work as scheduled.
- Candidate must possess knowledge of local Cleveland Metropolitan neighborhoods.
