The overall responsibility of this position is to help schedulers, and act as a specialist to support the maintenance of AITX railcar fleet. This includes lease returns, car reassignments and repair of railcars in shops. Review BRC's and create shopping packets for appropriate repair for railcars per AAR and FRA regulations. This position requires the ability to perform independent research into maintenance or administration for repair. Support of the AITX Customer Service and Sales departments is a key aspect of this role.
Job Duties
- Manage repair or modification of railcars and coordinate documentation of repairs including:
- Negotiate production space at repair networks
- Create shopping records and send packets to shops
- Obtains SDS or other documentation from customers
- Monitors shopping status PODs, follows up with shops for overdue dates or changes to PODs
- Provide reports / updates to CSL, sales and customers, scheduled and ad hoc
- Manage Shopping events
- Loads, reviews / audits, codes BRC's
- Create car files for documentation storage
- Receives, reviews and files inbound shop docs (pictures, forms, other)
- Send customer responsible portion of estimates to customer for review / approval
- Coordinates with shops on process or technical questions
- Provides shop with updated / revised repair procedures, when needed
- Loads revised / final BRC's
- Receives, reviews and files outbound shop docs (pictures, forms, other)
- Coordinate with Engineering to approve final doc package before dispo given
- Coordinates with CSL's on dispo and customer required documentation
- Knowledge of the AAR and FRA regulatory requirements that impact the repair of railcars
- Knowledge of the quality assurance plan requirements as it pertains to repair of railcars
Experience
- 2+ years prior experience in Fleet Operations with emphasis in railcar construction or maintenance
- Procedure and process driven
- Familiar with Railcar leasing and repair process
Education
- Computer literacy with knowledge of software troubleshooting and updates.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associates degree or equivalent rail car inspection and repair experience.
