Production Manager

SUMMARY: Directs, plans, and coordinates activities concerned with production and establishes production priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Works with Plant Manager to establish and implement company policies and goals and production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitors product standards and develops and implements quality control programs and operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve quality.
2. Monitors the production processes, adjusts or revises production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems, and ensures goods and services are produced efficiently and with the correct quantities, quality, and cost.
3. Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.
4. Conducts hearings to resolve or effect settlement of grievances and leads grievance resolution (2nd Steps)
5. Ensures that all tube mill production achieves goals/targets.
6. Manage Weekly Shift Schedule for hourly employees.
7. Purchase all manufacturing-related supplies and services.
8. Supervise and mentor plant supervisors.
9. Promote and breed a positive Safety Culture.
10. Manage Weekly Shift Schedule, time punches, and vacations for hourly staff.
11. Customer claim visits.
12. Raw material vendor investigations.
13. Workers Comp - return to work liaison.
14. Back up for Supervisors and Plant Manager during sickness and/or vacations.
15. Perform other duties as required by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Computer competency required.
2. Strong written/oral communication skills.
3. Strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 3 to 5 years of previous experience in tube mill.
2. Post-secondary school education required.
3. Prior supervisory experience required.
4. Strong mechanical background.
