Job Description

This position involves empowering those receiving supports to reach their full potential by promoting individual choice, teaching social, self-help, and daily living skills.

Location: Denver, CO

Salary: $20.00 Per Hour

Hours: Shift days vary ... Mon to Sun

  • Provide direct physical assistance, supervision, training/guidance and support needed by persons service for completion of activities of daily living (e.g. toileting, eating, personal hygiene, etc.).
  • Assist persons receiving supports with taking prescribed medications.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation.
  • Support person receiving services with planning and executing activities of choice in the home and community.
  • Participate in cleaning and maintaining the home and surrounding environment. These tasks may include, but are not limited to vacuuming, laundry, dishes, meal preparation from a menu, organizing drawers and closets, cleaning ovens, washing windows, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Potential positions may require more medical coordination responsibilities and one on one support.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED or C.N.A. with previous successful work experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License, satisfactory driving record and the ability to drive a 10-passenger van with wheelchair lift.
  • Satisfactory CBI records check and other background checks.

Typical Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Requires sitting, standing, bending, kneeling and reaching for assisting person receiving supports.
  • Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position.
  • Ability to successfully complete all aspects of the crisis intervention training-Safety Care.
