TECHNOLOGY & SKILLS TUTOR

GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide individualized and/or group tutoring in basic knowledge and skills related to technological coursework. Provide experience in the use of computers, app development and programming. Promote experiences to help our participants in the career exploration in the technology.

TASKS AND DETAILED WORK ACTIVITIES

1. Provide the participants the basic computer knowledge in the following programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, Internet and Power Point).
2. Provide experience in the use of computers, app development and programming and robotics experiences.
3. Develops unit and lesson plans, with goals, objectives, topics and activities for each class session, organizing the appropriate time for a lesson, and presenting the lesson in a logical and sequential manner.
4. Provides individualized, small group, and large group instruction in order to meet the needs of each participant.
5. Engages participants in learning through best teaching practice strategies to achieve positive results.
6. Organize classroom procedures and routines and manage participant behavior.
7. Keeps appropriate records of participant progress, prepares reports, and communicates progress.

1. Maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable classroom environment. Carefully explains goals, policies, ground rules, and grading policies at the beginning of the program.

1. Selects and orders instructional supplies, materials, and resources.
2. Performs various non-instructional duties including taking daily attendance, among others.
3. Monitors participant progress through regular formal and informal assessment.
4. Participates in committee work, family activities, and sponsored organizational activities.

Requirements

Educational or experience: Preferably college student, minimum 9 technology credits in Computer Science, Education, Programming, or computer-related field. Preferably experience in tutoring and/or educational services.
