Metal Fabricator/Welder at Big Timberworks Inc.

Big Timberworks Inc. in Gallatin Gateway, MT is looking for a metal fabricator/welder to join our team. Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00 work schedule. We build fine custom architectural metalworks, i.e. fireplace doors, railing, address signs, hardware, lighting fixtures, furniture etc.

Pay to be $20-$30/hr depending on experience.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Complete metalworks projects in a timely matter while maintaining a high level of work quality and consistency.
• Installation of projects at residential and commercial jobsites.
• Delegation of fabrication prep work to metal mechanics, i.e. cutting parts, wire-wheeling, parts cleaning, patina prep, etc.

Metals Fabricator should demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

• Problem solving and critical thinking.
• Attention to detail.
• Clear and appropriate communication and coordination with co-workers.
• Proper time management to maintain a fluid production flow.
• Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment.
• Reading and understanding CAD drawings.
• Precise measuring using an assortment of measuring tools to produce accurate parts and assemblies.
• Knowledge of the following welding techniques:
• MIG hard wire, MIG dual shield, TIG and SMAW.
• Safe and efficient use of all tools and equipment in and around the shop including but not limited to the following:
• Oxy-fuel torch, power hammer, horizontal bandsaw, angle grinders, die grinders, iron worker, gas forge, CNC plasma table, telehandler, skid-steer, etc.
• Application of acid patina finishes and various sealant products.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Welding certifications are a plus, but not required.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $20.00 - $30.00/hour.
