Robert Half is looking for a talented accounting manager or controller to work with a thriving manufacturing company in Columbus, IN. To succeed in this role, you will need to lead daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable. The ideal candidate for this position has the ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations. This Accounting Manager role is a permanent employment opportunity, based in the Columbus, Indiana area.


Responsibilities


- Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements through data analysis, document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes


- Lead and supervise the accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure close deadlines are met


- Possessing a thorough knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable


- Prepare a variety of technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures


- Review and analyze balance sheets and income statement accounts

- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred


- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience


- Exceptional communication skills that provide the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with a high customer service orientation


- Fixed assets experience required


- Experience with budget forecasting


- Month-end Close Activities experience preferred


- Sage Software experience preferred


- Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable


- 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience


- Solid technology and analytical abilities


- Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement
