About this job

The Logistics Coordinator manages the Material Handling group and Tool Crib ensuring that all aspects of shipping and receiving are carried out in a safe and timely manner. This position requires someone with experience shipping complicated mixed loads, usually on flatbeds. A successful candidate must demonstrate leadership skills and have experience organizing loads and maintaining a neat and safe yard.

Responsibilities

  • Create load manifests and oversee the efficient movement of freight
  • Ensure all trucks and trailers are accurately loaded in a complete, safe, and secure manner
  • Track:
    • ISI trucks, trailers and tools
    • inventory of commonly used parts
    • items sent to and returning from jobsites
  • Order parts, tools, bottled gases, consumables, etc.
  • Receiving and filling requests from job sites for parts, tools, and components
  • Schedule jobsite deliveries, including coordinating availability of trucks
  • Periodic inspection of all ISI trucks, toolboxes, and their contents and condition
  • Ensuring that ISI company trucks and onboard tools are properly signed out, checked in, and periodically audited
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Production Manager/Shop Foreman for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently
  • Light rigging as necessary
  • Occasionally making deliveries to customer/job sites
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to complete the essential functions of this position: stand, walk, climb, crouch, stoop, kneel and bend
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time on a regular basis
  • Operating tools, performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks
  • The position is subject to environmental conditions and outside work in all weather conditions is common

Qualifications

  • High School degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, specifically working with complicated mixed loads, such as parts, tools, equipment, and components
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Leadership skills required
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Computer literacy required
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record required
  • A CDL is helpful, but not required
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
