A Hotel Management Company in the Plattsburgh area is seeking an experienced, dynamic Director of Sales to join our team. As Director of Sales, you will oversee the total revenues of properties by supervising revenue-producing areas and identifying opportunities for improvement. In addition to oversight of company revenue, the DOS will develop and execute property sales and marketing plans for the hotels under management. This role is perfect for someone with extensive hospitality sales and marketing experience wanting to take the next step in their career by overseeing a portfolio of properties.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and goal oriented. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and customer service and is looking for a team environment which values integrity and personal and professional growth.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

· Produce the property’s Sales and Marketing plan and manage rooms, catering, and where appropriate, meeting room revenue streams.

· Work with the General Manager, Sales, and Operations teams to execute yield management and revenue management strategies to maximize revenues, profitability, and utilization of property.

· Develop and execute Sales Budget. Work with the General Manager, Vice President, and Operating Managers to develop revenue information for other departmental budgets.

· Manage, motivate, coach, and counsel the Sales team and the Front Desk team in presentation skills, account development and strategy, needs assessment, relationship selling, and closing deals.

· Serve as liaison with the property owners on all revenue related information.

· Manage property marketing efforts including advertising production, scheduling and placement; collateral materials production; public relations; and maintain community relationships.

· Work with General Manage and Front Office Manager on property systems.

· Participate in cross-selling programs through lead sending, account development and strategy, and prospecting for new business from opportunity accounts near property.

· Serve as a member of the properties management team.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Schedule varies according to business demands and needs.

  • Able to lift, move, and carry items and equipment up to 30 lbs.

  • Able to hear and speak to employees and guests in person and/or by phone.
  • Able to see and read on computer screen and paper.
  • Able to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment such as a computer, copier, phone, ten-key, postage meter, etc.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Requirements & Qualifications:

· 4 Year Degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or relevant field required.

· Seven or more years’ experience in hotel sales and/or marketing.

· Computer skills, with a strong working knowledge of the primary Microsoft Office programs.

· Ability to successfully pass a background check, including a clean driving record, and other pre-employment screening.
