BASIC PURPOSE:

Provides technical leadership with the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the Bank's security infrastructure and technology tools. Researches, evaluates, implements, and recommends security technologies used at the Bank. Maintains and monitors the health and effectiveness of security tools and controls. Keeps up-to-date on the latest security technologies. Supports security governance functions in accordance with Bank security policies and standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Defines manages and leads the lifecycle of security infrastructure and technology tools to include change control, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, capacity planning, and performance management.

• Provides Tier II technical support along with guidance, recommendations, and backup of security operations personnel.

• Monitor, diagnose, troubleshoot and, resolve issues involving security technology tools for abnormal user behavior and policy violations.

• Supports security incident response activities consisting of identifying new issues, gathering information, remediating issues, and reporting to appropriate individuals.

• Researches the development of security technology requirements, evaluations, selection, and deployment. Provides recommendations based on technical aspects of the product and effects of implementation to the Bank.

• Implements security-related projects such as security application upgrades, identity and access management, single sign-on/password administration, and other security initiatives.

• Creates reports to extract data as needed for reporting and statistical research. This includes reporting on metrics as they pertain to the security area.

• Communicates security and technical advisories and bulletins of potential security threats due to vulnerable software from technology vendors.

• Performs validation testing of applied security patches, configuration changes and system hardening.

• Performs administrative tasks associated with project management, reporting, technical documentation and procedures. Assists manager in developing and maintaining project plans.

• Identifies, evaluates and recommends changes to update or replace existing security technology.

• Creates method of procedure (MOP) and standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation to ensure normal operation of security tools.

• Provides direct support to the business and Information Technology staff for systems security related issues and questions. Recommends solutions to problems and notifies management of potential problem areas.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

A thorough understanding of troubleshooting and logic along with a comprehensive knowledge of computers, networks, and system software

Knowledge of capacity planning and performance monitoring and tuning

Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision

Must possess good customer service skills

Must possess strong multi-tasking and analytical/troubleshooting skills

Good oral written communication skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related discipline; six years of professional experience in information technology, and three years of security engineering experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.

WORK LOCATION:Onsite with an opportunity to work remote partially. This position may not be filled in California, either in-person or remotely.
